The Altona War Memorial located outside the Civic Offices, is one of only four 'eternal flames' in Australia. The stone memorial stands in front of three flagpoles and commemorates the First World War, Second World War, Korea and Vietnam

History and Significance:

The monument is an "eternal flame " memorial and lists 13 soldiers who died in service or were killed in action in World War Two. It also honours World War One, the Korean and Vietnam Wars. The monument is one of only four eternal flame monuments in Australia.
