History and Significance:

The Moorabbin Boer War Memorial was originally a fountain erected by public subscription and unveiled by the Premier, Mr Bent, on the 7th May 1904. It honoured the men from Moorabbin Shire who saw active service in the Boer War. The memorial was designed and erected by Mr Wilson of Surrey Hills. It originally stood on the intersection of Charman Road and Point Nepean Road, Cheltenham but was relocated to the rear of the Cheltenham RSL.
